Outside the Screen: Designing Light, Architecture, and Attention

In this session we explore how great projection design depends on collaboration beyond the pixels themselves. Drawing from productions such as Tommy, Hell’s Kitchen, and the Hans Zimmer Live world tour, this talk examines how projection can shape architectural space, direct the audience’s gaze, and work in harmony with lighting and scenic design. By approaching screens as part of a holistic stage composition, rather than as isolated surfaces for content, the session reveals how visual storytelling in live performance can redefine spatial experience and emotional impact.
