Ames O’Connor (they/them) is a seasoned Producer, Storyteller, and Educator with a background in filmmaking, systems integration, and event production. Based in Los Angeles, theyâve worked as a Senior Producer with Lux Machina on major projects, including Rolling Loud (Live Nation x American High) and the Emmy-Nominated 2nd season of The Rehearsal (HBO), alongside numerous short-form campaigns. With a strong foundation in systems integration and client management, O’Connor has designed and executed complex technical setups for live events and immersive experiences, including collaborations with Smart Monkeys for the MGM Theater in Cotai. Most recently, theyâve served as an Event Producer with AILA, helping engage the community at the intersection of art and technology.
Formerly the Director of Growth at XR Studios, O’Connor worked on commercial, music, and brand campaigns across both high-end agency and direct-to-client productionsâone favorite being the cold opens for Dancing with the Stars (ABC/Disney). Before relocating to Los Angeles, they founded The Omnivores, an immersive multimedia company blending live performance and cinema. As an educator, they have taught Directing and Vocal Techniques at several Midwestern universities and guest lecture at Carnegie Mellonâs ETC program and Ball State University.
