Pablo N. Molina

Interactive Media Design

Pablo N. Molina is an artist, creative technologist, and designer working at the intersection of performance, architecture, and emerging media. With a background in creative coding and interactive software development, he blends art and engineering to create immersive experiences that transform how audiences engage with space, story, and technology.

As the founder of PNM DESIGNS LLC, Pablo works as a freelance technical consultant and designer, developing custom software, projection systems, and interactive environments for clients in entertainment, architecture, and cultural institutions. His projects fuse technical innovation with expressive storytelling—bridging disciplines to produce impactful, human-centered design.

Trained as both artist and engineer, Pablo’s expertise spans AR/XR, projection mapping, real-time rendering, and responsive media systems. He has authored custom codebases, show control frameworks, and media pipelines for performance, museum, and architectural environments. His work has been presented at leading venues including the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), LACMA, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Public Theater, and The Whitney Museum of American Art.

Pablo served as Technical Director for the reinvention of the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center in New York City—joining during the advanced design phase and leading the project through on-site integration and completion in early 2025. He oversaw the refinement, coordination, and implementation of immersive media systems that now define the attraction’s new architectural and experiential identity.

He also contributed as Projection Mapping Consultant for the award-winning One World Observatory at One World Trade Center, advising on large-scale projection and storytelling systems integrated into the observatory’s architectural design.

Previously, Pablo was Vice President and Creative Technologist at an interactive media software development company, leading technical strategy and cross-disciplinary teams during a pivotal period of growth in 2020–2021. In that role, he helped develop real-time visualization and show control platforms that supported complex interactive experiences worldwide.

In large-scale entertainment, he has served as Technical Video Systems Designer and Integrator for Marvel Universe Live! and Lead Video Systems Engineer for Fantastic Journey aboard Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess, engineering robust projection and playback infrastructures that set new standards for live and touring productions.

A longtime faculty member at CalArts, Pablo co-founded its MFA program in Interactive Media for Performance and continues to mentor artists globally. His work reflects a deep belief that technology, when crafted with intention, is a storytelling medium capable of wonder, connection, and transformation.
